Yum yum!
This morning's beach yielded up a quick gourmet
snack for Duke - Poissons séchés au soleil
 or fish jerky.
The next challenge was to get him to relinquish it
before it found its way onto the settee.

The Old & New

These Australian pines were planted
too close together and grew tall and spindly.
Given space they normally grow to mighty trees
and can be seen on the shorelines of many Pacific islands.
The last two years' typhoons have killed these weak trees off,
but happily their brood of young ones survived
in the undergrowth below and are now asserting themselves.
By the time I am 120, and with proper spacing,
they should grow into great trees .

Yum Yum!

Duke's first lamb bone.
Whopper!

Cuttlebones  are nothing new on the tide line
but this huge shell brought
a brief halt to morning walkies.
There's a  mysterious size eleven footprint
next to it for a size comparison.

A Fishy World
Big surprise looking down into the
rock pool below the house.
These grill-sized fish are 10ft down,
trapped by the low tide.
The usual crowd are mostly tiddlers.
Now, where did I put that rod?
